I'm often asked by recent graduates where to look for work.  As a general idea, you should join the professional societies in your field as a good first step.  Attend conferences in your areas of professional interest.  And there are some online links which might help as well:

Professional Societies:

  1. ACM Home Page
  2. ACM volunteering opportunities
  3. IEEE Computer Society

Job Searching:

  1. Career Resource Center over 11,000 links to jobs, employers, services, etc.
  2. America's Job Bank leading web job search engine
  3. Career Path 250,000 classified job ads from major newspapers plus 60,000 user group postings
  4. MONSTER board lists 18,000 jobs, good search engine included w/profile ability
